Thank you for being part of our amazing volunteer team for KYCK 2023! We are thankful for your willingness to serve and look forward to having you as part of our team.

General Information

Location
KYCK is being held at Katoomba Christian Convention (KCC) in Katoomba.

Access to the StayKCC site is via a driveway off Cliff Drive, please keep an eye out for our signage marking the entrance. Please refer to our site map if you need further details about our location and onsite buildings.
Parking
Please aim to park at Mountain Camp or the Clairvaux Oval (Cnr of Violet Street and Cliff Drive). If the oval is closed for parking, you will need to park on the street. Please don’t park where there are ‘No Convention Parking’ signs displayed.60
Arrival Time
Please refer to your volunteer team information for details about when your team is required to arrive onsite on Friday afternoon.
Sign-in
You will be required to sign-in at the KYCK Information Tent, located near the auditorium, as soon as you arrive onsite. We’ll provide you with a name badge and contact card – this will be your identification and allow you access to KYCK.
Volunteer Briefing
All volunteers are required to attend a volunteer and safety briefing on Friday afternoon at 5.30pm in Mountain Camp Dining Room. Please make sure you have read our code of conduct and site induction prior to KYCK.

Accommodation
Accommodation will be provided to volunteers at Mountain Camp or Clairvaux Quarters. You’ll receive an email from Bec Hardman prior to KYCK with your allocated accommodation site and room number.
Please note that you’ll be sharing rooms with other volunteers of the same gender.
Site hosts will stay at the accommodation site that they have been allocated.
Meals
All volunteer meals will be served in the Mountain Camp Dining Room, except for dinner on Friday night.
If you have a dietary requirement and didn’t submit with your application form, please let us know now!
Meals will be served for volunteers at the following times:
Friday
Dinner: 6pm (Pizza served at the auditorium, following volunteer briefing)
Supper: 9pm
Saturday
Breakfast: 7:15am
Lunch: 12:30pm
Dinner: 5.45pm
Supper: 9pm
Sunday
Breakfast: 7:15am
Lunch: 12.30pm*
*For volunteers at KYCK 3, lunch will be available to pick up at the Information Tent.
What to Pack
You will need to bring your own sleeping bag (or sheets), pillowcase, towel, warm clothes, and toiletries. Pillows and doonas are provided, and all rooms are carpeted and heated.
If you’re in the parking or muscle teams, please bring additional wet weather gear in case it rains!
COVIDSafe
Please follow guidelines from the NSW Government relating to testing and self-isolation requirements. Please stay at home from KYCK if appropriate and if you have symptoms, please complete a Rapid Antigen Test to ensure the safety of other volunteers during the weekend. It is recommended, but not mandatory, to wear masks where appropriate social distancing with other groups is not possible.

AV Team
Arrival
Please arrive at 5pm for sign-in. You’ll then head into our auditorium to meet the team before our volunteer briefing begins at 5.30pm at Mountain Camp Dining Room.
Team Leader
Our AV team is being led by Steve Anderson, Pete Kiernan and Matt Goldman. Please listen to their instructions for your volunteer role. If you have any questions, please ask Bec Hardman (KYCK Event Coordinator) or your team leaders.

Please note that role allocations in the team may vary slightly when you arrive onsite, depending on requirements and volunteer availability.
Bookshop Team
Arrival
Please arrive at 5pm for sign-in. You’ll then head into the bookshop to meet the team before our volunteer briefing begins at 5.30pm at Mountain Camp Dining Room.
Team Leader
Our bookshop team is being led by Karl Grice, from the Wandering Bookseller. Please listen to his instructions for your volunteer role. If you have any questions, please ask Bec Hardman (KYCK Event Coordinator) or your team leader.

Coffee Cart Team
Arrival
Please arrive at 5pm for sign-in. You’ll then head into the coffee cart tent to meet the team before our volunteer briefing begins at 5.30pm at Mountain Camp Dining Room.
Team Leader
Our coffee cart team is being led by Ian, from The Bearded Brewer. Please listen to his instructions for your volunteer role. If you have any questions, please ask Bec Hardman (KYCK Event Coordinator) or your team leader.
Volunteer Responsibilities
Team roles in the coffee cart team will be allocated when you arrive onsite and will depend on the skills and abilities of team members.
Muscle Team
Arrival
Please arrive at 4pm for sign-in. You’ll then meet your team at the KYCK Information Tent for a briefing and help with final setup tasks before our volunteer briefing begins at 5.30pm at Mountain Camp Dining Room.
Team Leader
Our muscle team is being led by Amelia and Elliot on the weekends listed below.

Volunteer Responsibilities
The muscle team makes KYCK happen! You will be responsible for various set up / pack down tasks throughout KYCK such as putting out booklets, setting up morning tea and merchandise items. Please follow the lead of your team leader for information on what you should be doing at particular times.
You will have a team briefing with your leader on Friday afternoon when you arrive.
Parking Team
Arrival
Please arrive at 4pm for sign-in. You’ll then meet your team at the KYCK Information Tent for a parking team briefing from a KCC staff member before our volunteer briefing begins at 5.30pm at Mountain Camp Dining Room.

Volunteer Responsibilities

Registration Team
Arrival
Please arrive at 4pm for sign-in. You’ll then head into the KYCK Information Tent to meet KCC staff for a team briefing and to help with setup tasks before our volunteer briefing begins at 5.30pm at Mountain Camp Dining Room.

Site Host Team
Arrival
Please aim to arrive at 5pm, before guests arrive at your accommodation site. You’ll then head into the KYCK Information Tent to meet KCC staff for a team briefing and to help with setup tasks before our volunteer briefing begins at 5.30pm at Mountain Camp Dining Room.
Team Leader
The site host team will be overseen by Bec Hardman (KYCK Event Coordinator). Please listen to their instructions for your volunteer role. If you have any questions, please let her know.

Camping

The camp site will be available from 3pm on Friday to peg in or plug in.
Clairvaux — Indoor Camping
Entry via 41 Violet Street (past the oval on the right)

Hartley

Slushie Team
Arrival
Please arrive at 5pm for sign-in. You’ll then meet your team at the KYCK Information Tent for a briefing and help with final setup tasks before our volunteer briefing begins at 5.30pm at Mountain Camp Dining Room.
Team Leader
Our slushie team is being led by a KCC Staff Member.

Volunteer Responsibilities
The slushie team is the newest volunteer team to KYCK! You will be responsible for various set up / pack down tasks for the slushie tent and making sure the slushies are extra cold! Our slushies will be available for everyone to purchase during morning tea breaks on Saturday and Sunday. You will have a briefing when you arrive on Friday and start setup tasks ready for Saturday.
Ushering Team
Arrival
Please aim for your group to arrive before 5.30pm, so you can attend our volunteer briefing that begins at 5.30pm at Mountain Camp Dining Room.
Team Leader
Please nominate an ushering team leader prior to arriving at KYCK. The ushering team leader will be the main point of contact for the KYCK Event Coordinator and AV Team, but also be responsible for communicating instructions to your group. If you have any questions, please ask Bec Hardman (KYCK Event Coordinator).
