For Sarah, KYCK has been a highlight of her high school years—a time of worship, friendship, and growing in faith. In this story, Sarah shares what she’ll miss most and how KYCK has prepared her to keep trusting God for the road ahead.

1. Please introduce yourself!
Hi, I’m Sarah from Rev21 at All Saints Nowra. I just finished Yr 12.
I attended the last 4 years and loved every minute of it. It’s a weekend I look forward to each year as it’s such an encouraging and uplifting time surrounded by friends and Christian family. I’m going to miss it as I move on from high school but grateful for the memories it’s provided me and looking forward to Spark!

2. What is a KYCK highlight?
I LOVE the singing. It’s such a highlight (amongst many). There is something so special about 2000 people worshiping God together led by amazing bands.
A highlight is also the time away with your youth and friends to grow deeper in faith together. The car ride up, walking up the hill, and waiting in line together with anticipation for the doors to open for the session all add to the fun of the weekend.
3. How has KYCK encouraged your faith?
KYCK helped me see there are so many more Christians my age than just the few in my year and those at my church. It was really eye opening and encouraging to realise there are thousands of other Christian youths who love God but also face similar challenges in day-to-day life such as at school. It’s encouraging that we are all on it together and God has enabled amazing weekends like KYCK where we can all come together and be spurred on in our faith.
4. What will you miss about KYCK?
Literally everything! It’s such an uplifting weekend and you always leave feeling encouraged and refreshed in your faith. It’s also amazing going away with your friends, having the opportunity to encourage others and great conversations. I will definitely miss the worship. I love being in the room hearing everyone praising God together. It feels really special.
5. How has KYCK prepared you for life after high school?
KYCK has given me the confidence to know that no matter where I am or what I’m doing, I have the joy of knowing God is with me and will guide me. I don’t know what’s coming but God does, He planned it so I can rest assured He has it covered!

Every time I’m in a difficult situation, feel outnumbered or excluded for my faith, I can remember KYCK and know that that there are thousands of others walking this journey too. We can hold each other – those we know and even those we don’t, in prayer.
6. Why would you recommend KYCK to others?
I’d recommend KYCK to both Christians and those wanting to discover more about God as the talks are delivered with a focus on youth understanding the life changing nature of putting trust in God. It’s a super encouraging time to grow closer as a youth group and deepen personal faith with relevant messages, Q&A’s, games and worship.
7. How has God changed your life?
As someone who struggles with anxiety, being a Christian has provided me with such comfort in times of turmoil and worry. It’s incredible to know that God has gone before me, knows the path ahead of me and will be with me no matter what I face! Being able to pray about anything I’m anxious about is so helpful.
